  • Kailash Choudhary: He is the Director at IFAS Edutech Pvt. Ltd. Pune, Maharashtra. 1. IIT JAM BT EXAM

From the Academic Session 2004-05, IITs started conducting a Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM). The objective of JAM is to provide in Biosciences Question Bank admissions to M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programmes at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at the IISC and to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students across the country.

JAM has been established as a benchmark for undergraduate-level science education in the country. The Integrated Ph.D. Program at IISc, started in the early 1990s to enable students to directly join a Ph.D. Program after their B.Sc. The degree has flourished under JAM. The IIT JAM BT examination is an ONLINE Computer Based Test (CBT) the duration of the examination will be of 3 hours. The medium for all the test papers will be English only. There will be a total of 60 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The entire paper will be divided into three sections, A, B, and C.

All sections are compulsory. Section-A contains a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) involving 10 questions of one mark each and 20 questions of two marks each. Section B contains a total of 10 Multiple Select Questions (MCQs) carrying two marks each. Section C contains a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions involving 10 questions of one mark each and 10 questions of two marks each.

2. TIFR EXAM

The Biosciences Question Bank ifas is highly useful in The TIFR Nationwide Entrance Examination for Biology, also called the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS). The Institute runs a graduate program leading to the award of Ph.D., Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D., and M.Sc. degree in certain subjects. TIFR Examination is an online computer-based test (CBT). All questions are MCQ and the Mode of Examination is LAN Based on CBT (Computer Based Test) Duration 3 Hours Type of Questions are Multiple Choice Questions. The Total Number of Questions is 100, with Marks per question 1 one for each correct response. Scoring No negative marking for incorrect response Medium of Paper English only. 3. GAT-B

GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST-BIOTECHNOLOGY (GAT-B) 2020 Eligibility test for admission to DBT-supported PG Programmes in Biotechnology in participating institutions across India: M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Agricultural Biotechnology, M.V.Sc., M.Tech. Biotechnology and M.Sc. in allied areas This eligibility test replaces Combined Entrance Examination for Biotechnology (CEEB) conducted previously by Jawaharlal Nehru University JNU. The examination will be conducted in a single shift for 180 minutes. The question paper will have two parts: Part A will have 60 compulsory multiple-choice questions of the level of 10+2 in the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Each correct answer will be one mark.

There will be a negative marking and for each wrong answer, the halfway mark will be deducted. Part B will have multiple choice questions of bachelor’s level requiring thinking and analysis. There will be questions from basic Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, and allied areas as per the syllabus given below. There will be 100 questions out of which the candidates will have to attempt 60 questions. Each correct answer will have a weightage of 3 marks. There will be negative markings and for each wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.

4. JNU

JNU offers M. Sc. Programmes in life sciences under the School of Life-sciences. the Biosciences Question Bank ifas also consists of previous years solved question papers. Selection Procedure for Admission: No viva voce examination is held for the MSc program. The candidates are admitted on merit based on their performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT) and the deprivation points are added to their score following the university’s approved admission Policy and Procedures.
