CSIR NET JRF Life Science:

 

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has entrusted the responsibility of conducting CSIR-UGC NET in CBT mode to NTA. CSIR-UGC NET is a test being conducted to determine the eligibility ‘for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship/Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid down by UGC. Online applications for JRF/NET are invited twice a year on an Indian basis through Press Notification of CSIR-UGC NET for JRF and LS.

CSIR conducts TEST for the following subjects:- (the figures in the opposite column indicate subject codes. )

Eligibility criteria for CSIR NET JRF Life Science:- 

It is recommended to check and satisfy the basic and compulsory education qualifications along with the age criteria. Otherwise, you may lose the chance to appear for the exam. Below, we have provided the general requirement that you need to fulfill.

Education Qualification:-

Candidates who want to apply for the CSIR NET EXAM  must have one of the following degrees: –

  •  M.Sc.
  •  Integrated BS-MS
  •  BS-4 Years
  •  BE/B.Tech.
  •  Or an Equivalent Degree.

In the above-mentioned qualifications, candidates must satisfy the minimum percentage criteria which are given below: –

 Category  General  OBC  ST/NT  PwD
 Marks  55%  50%  50%  50%

Note:- Here EWS candidates also come in the general category.

Age Limit & Relaxation:-

The Age Limit Criteria is different in CSIR NET JRF Life Science for JRF and Assistant Professor. You can check the complete details along with the age relaxation below: –

For Junior Research Fellowship

Maximum Age – 28 years as of 1st January

Age Relaxation – Up to 5 Years for SC/ST/OBC/ PwD/Female Applicants & 3 years in case of OBC (non-creamy layer).

For Lectureship

There is no upper age limit in this case. Candidates from any age group can apply for a lectureship.

CSIR-UGC (NET) Exam for Award of Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lecturer-ship shall be a Single Paper Test having Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s). CSIR NET JRF Life Science question paper is divided into three parts.


Part ‘A’ 

This part carries  20 questions on General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis, and Research Aptitude. The candidates are required to answer any 15 questions. Each question is of two marks. The total marks allocated to this section is 30 out of 200.


Part ‘B’

This part contains 50 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) generally covering the topics given in the syllabus. A candidate needs to answer any 35 questions. Each question shall be of two marks. The total marks allocated to this section are 70 out of 200.


Part ‘C’

This part contains 75 questions that are designed to test a candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions are of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to solve the given scientific problem. A candidate shall be required to answer any 25 questions. Each question is of four marks. The total marks allocated to this section are 100 out of 200.

There is a negative marking of @25% for each wrong answer.
