The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) is all set to conduct its recruitment drive in 2023. The institute has released a notification for 19 vacancies in various departments. So, if you have the required qualifications and experience, then it’s time to apply for the NISER job placement in 2023.
Applications are invited for various posts like Scientific Assistant-C, Scientific Assistant-B, Technician-C and Technician-B. NISER invites online applications from eligible citizens of India for the following posts by Direct Recruitment on a regular basis.

NISER Recruitment 2023: Vacancies In Life Sciences
1) Post Name – Scientific Assistant-C (Animal House)
- No. of Post – 1
- Essential Qualifications – BSc in Life Sciences/Zoology/Biotechnology/Animal Sciences with minimum 60% marks in BSc.
- Age – Minimum 18 but not more than 37 years as on 29.05.2023 for SC category i.e. born on or after 30.05.1986 (both days inclusive).
- Essential Experience – 4 (four) years of relevant experience in handling and management of Breeding/experimentation/ maintenance of laboratory animals after obtaining requisite qualification.
- Pay Scale – Rs. 44,900-142,400
2) Post Name – Scientific Assistant-C (Biology)
- No. of Post – 1
- Essential Qualifications – BSc with Biology as major subject with minimum 60% marks in B.Sc.
- Age – Minimum 18 but not more than 42 years for Gen-PwD category, 45 years for OBC-PwD category and 47 years for SC PwD/ST-PwD category as on 29.05.2023 i.e. born on or after 30.05.1981 for GenPwD category, 30.05.1978 for OBC-PwD category and 30.05.1976 for SC-PwD/ST-PwD category (both days inclusive).
- Essential Experience – 4 years of experience in operating microscopes catering to different applications such as wide-field, confocal, spinning disc, cryo-EM etc. in a biological laboratory after obtaining requisite qualification.
- Pay Scale – Rs. 44,900-142,400
3) Post Name – Scientific Assistant-C (Biology)
- No. of Post – 1
- Essential Qualifications – BSc with Biology as major subject with minimum 60% marks in B.Sc.
- Age – Minimum 18 but not more than 42 years for Gen-PwD category, 45 years for OBC-PwD category and 47 years for SC-PwD/ST-PwD category as on 29.05.2023 i.e. born on or after 30.05.1981 for GenPwD category, 30.05.1978 for OBC-PwD category and 30.05.1976 for SC-PwD/ST-PwD category (both days inclusive).

4) Post Name – Scientific Assistant-C (Interdisciplinary Science)
- No. of Post – 1
- Essential Qualifications – BSc with Physics/Chemistry/Biology as a major subject with minimum 60% marks BSc.
- Age – Minimum 18 but not more than 35 years as on 29.05.2023 for OBC category i.e. born on or after 30.05.1988 (both days inclusive).
- Essential Experience – 4 years of relevant experience in Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) after obtaining requisite qualification.
- Pay Scale – Rs. 44,900-142,400
5) Post Name – Technician-B (Biology)
- No. of Post -1
- Essential Qualifications – HSC (12th Standard) in Science with minimum 60% marks.
- Age – Minimum 18 but not more than 30 years as on 29.05.2023 for ST category i.e. born on or after 30.05.1993 (both days inclusive).
- Essential Experience – Experience in handling equipment like DNA sequencer or mass spectrometer or high end
confocal microscope. - Pay Scale – Rs. 21,700-69,100

Application Process: NISER Recruitment 2023
- The Mode of application is ONLINE. The applicants should apply online through the Institute’s website https://www.niser.ac.in on or before 29.05.2023.
- The candidates have to pay an application fee of ₹500/- (Rupees five hundred only) ONLINE during the filling of the online application. The application fee is exempted for SC, ST, Ex-serviceman, PwBD and Women candidates.
- The candidate should have a valid email ID for applying and a Soft copy (JPG file) of a passport size photograph of the candidate, a Scanned copy of the Signature of the candidate, a Scanned copy of essential qualifications (Certificates and Mark sheets), experience certificates if applicable, age proof, caste certificate if applicable and documents related to desirable criteria.
Selection Process: NISER Recruitment 2023
The selection process for NISER Recruitment 2023 includes a written test, trade test and personal interview.
Written Test (60%) + Personal Interview (40%) for Scientific Assistant Cadre Posts
Written Test (100%) weightage for Technician Cadre Posts
Trade Test (Qualifying in Nature) is mandatory for both cadre posts.
